Der Verzicht auf die künstlerische Arbeit mit KollegInnen ist auch mir in den letzten Monaten schwer gefallen und wir haben gemeinsam nach Wegen gesucht, die Arbeit über Grenzen und Ozeane hinweg fortzusetzen. Entstanden sind u.a. Online-Arbeiten mit Macri Cáceres in Peru, Heather Roche in London und Kerstin Petersen in Hamburg. Viel Spass beim Nachhören!

The Zöllner-Roche-Duo was supposed to perform at Colognes prestigious ACHT BRÜCKEN Festival. The concert was cancelled but we were lucky to get the chance to present videos of two of the pieces in the Festival-Stream which can be watched until the end of May via WDR Kulturambulanz

Das Zöllner-Roche-Duo wäre am 8. Mai beim ACHT BRÜCKEN Festival in Köln aufgetreten. Als Ersatz gab es einen Festival-Stream, der bis Ende Mai auf der WDR Kulturambulanz angeschaut werden kann. While all our gigs for the next couple of months are cancelled we managed to make one last recording (literally minutes before we went into lockdown) with 6 brand new pieces which we had prepared for the Sweden tour that never happened…. here they are on bandcamp

Meine Abwesenheit in Teheran…

In diesem Jahr bin ich Gastkünstlerin beim Tehran International Electronic Music Festival. Es gab einen Wettbewerb für Iranische KomponistInnen, um neue Stücke für Akkordeon und Elektronik zu komponieren, die ich am 27. July im Konzert uraufgeführt hätte. Mein Visum (und auch die aller anderen europäischen Gastkünstler) in letzter Minute (48 Stunden vor Abflug!) abgelehnt. Ich bin traurig und wütend. Ich glaube, das interkultureller Austausch unsere Welt zu einem besseren Ort macht, und dafür möchte ich kämpfen.
Im Moment bereite ich einen Live-Stream für meinen Workshop vor, um zumindest medial in Teheran dabei sein zu können. 
Die Stücke werde ich auf Video aufnehmen, damit sie im Konzert abgespielt werden können. 

Ich bedanke mich bei der Yarava Music Group für die Einladung, beim Goethe-Institut und beim Land Rheinland-Pfalz, die meine Reise unterstützt hätten, und ich wünsche meinen iranischen Freunden viel Energie, um ihre großartige Arbeit fortzuführen! 

My Absence from Tehran…

I am invited guest artist at this year´s edition of Tehran International Electronic Music Festival. They had a competition for Iranian Composers writing new pieces for accordion and electronics which I was supposed to premier on July 27. My visa (and actually those of all European Artists invited for the festival) was rejected in the very last minute (that means 48 hrs becore departure!). I am sad and furious. I believe intercultural exchange does make the world a better place and I want to fight for it.
Currently I am preparing a live-stream-conference for my workshop to be presented during the festival, and the pieces for the concert will be videotaped and shown in the concerts. 

I want to thank the Yarava Musci Group for their great spirit, the Goethe Institute and the Cultural Ministry of Rheinland-Pfalz who would have supported my trip and I hope my Iranian friends and colleagues will have the energy to continue their great work until better times!

Im März hatte ich die große Ehre, als eine der 12 SolistInnen beim Projekt „Anders Hören“ von Marina Abramovic in der Alten Oper in Frankfurt dabei zu sein. Ein wirklich besonderes Projekt, das noch nachwirkt.
Das Konzert wurde von ARTE gefilmt und kann bis Juni hier online geschaut werden.
